Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
