A popular South African media personality and entertainer has been shot dead in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation struggling with entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was attacked in the city centre on the afternoon of Tuesday.
Officials stated the forty-year-old entertainer was confronted by three individuals, with one opened fire on him before fleeing on foot.
The motive of the attack remains unclear and no arrests are in custody, as per the official statement.

Law enforcement said that Stock was ambushed as he was leaving a building close to the city center landmark.
