A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign aims to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it fails to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

The track was produced after a large-scale benefit event held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the performance was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The diverse array of musicians contributing to Lullaby features a range of acclaimed names from the scene. All were part of the September show, which reportedly raised a significant sum for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of talented individuals. The track blends a mix of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The group managing the campaign have clarified that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These donations will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was described as its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and proving that another narrative exists.”
